Are you a zero waste warrior?

Lifestyle

Hey lovelies,

So, back again with another talk, something I'm super excited about—living as close to zero waste as we can. Like, if you've ever glanced at your trash can and thought, "Woah, how did we fill this up so quickly?" then this conversation for you, my friend.

The Zero-Waste Life

Living zero waste isn’t about being perfect; it’s about making better choices, one step at a time. Think about it—every plastic bag you refuse, every water bottle you don’t buy, adds up. It’s not just a trend; it’s a lifestyle that’s kinder to Mother Earth.

Composting is Key, Y'all

If you're not composting yet, seriously, what are you waiting for? It's like, the easiest way to make your kitchen scraps become something magical: Soil for your garden! Anything from fruit peels to coffee grounds and even old newspapers can go in there. I have a small compost pile in our backyard, and let me tell you, our peach and apple trees are absolutely loving it. Composting literally turns your waste into gold—for your garden, at least.

Thrift Is the New Black

Don’t even get me started on how much I adore thrift stores. I mean, not only do you find some seriously unique pieces (I found a stellar 90s maxi dress last month), but you’re also keeping stuff out of landfills. It's like treasure hunting but eco-style, you know? Plus, thrifting is a great way to score kids' clothes, especially when they grow out of them in, like, five minutes. Not to mention, you save some serious coin. It’s a win-win, honestly.

Small Steps, Big Impact

If the thought of going zero waste intimidates you, don't sweat it. Start small, like:

Bring Your Own Shopping Bag: Seriously, it's not that hard, and most of them are cute AF.

Refill Stations: A lot of places offer bulk items. Bring your own container and fill 'er up!

DIY Beauty: I’m obsessed with making my own face masks, scrubs, and even toothpaste! Trust me, your skin will thank you.

Ditch the Plastic: Go for reusable silicone bags, beeswax wraps, and glass containers.

Compost: If you don’t have space for a compost pile, many cities have community composting programs, so check those out!

So there you have it, friends. Zero waste living and being self-sufficient are honestly some of the best ways to reconnect with nature and do your bit for the planet. And it's not just for hardcore eco-warriors or people living off-grid; anyone can make these small but impactful changes.

Big love,

Stacey 🌿✨
